Wakuwaku Role-play

Scenario

A prominent Australian is given the role of promoting Australian products in Japan. S/he is responsible for designing and producing TV commercials and acting out the commercials in Japanese. Their job is to make the commercials entertaining and attractive to a Japanese audience.

The product to be promoted is a new sports car made by Bolden(ボールデン).

Senario Variation

Students may create imaginary products or choose places in Australia to promote to the Japanese market.
The commercials can be created in a conversational style. Example commercials are on the following page.

Expressions

These are useful expressions for promoting products and places.

おいしい (delicious) / おもしろい (interesting) / かっこいい (cool / good looking)　
やすい (cheap) / きれい (pretty/ clean) / すごい (great) / べんり (convenient)
いいですね！ (It's great, isn't it?) / だいすき！ (I love it) / わたしもほしい！ (I want one, too)

A: チョコレートをたべますか。

B: いいえ、けっこうです。

A: ダイエットですか。

B: はい・・・・。

A:(Offers a chocolate bar) だいじょうぶ！たべてください。
　　スーパーダイエットチョコレート！

B: スーパーダイエットチョコレート？

A: そう。おいしいです。でも、ノーカロリーです！

B: (Takes a bite)おいしい！いくらですか。
A: 100円です。

B: やすい！！　100こください。

A: 100こはちょっと・・・。

B: だめ！100こ！！

A: ・・・はい。どうぞ。 (Gives B a boxful of chocolate bars)

B: よーし、がんばるぞー。
　　スーパーダイエットチョコレート！
