Make
10 cards from enlargements of the strips
below, and stick the cards on the walls around the classroom.
For lower primary classes, you may add romaji or paste
pictures from the flash cards above the names as extra
support. Make strips of place names. Each student takes
a strip which indicates the starting place of their
trip.
First, students search for their starting place on the
left side of the cards on the walls. On the right side
they will find their next destination, which they write
down on their sheet. They will then search for this
destination on the left side of the cards again, and
continue until they have visited 10 places and returned
to the place where they started. The worksheet
below is to be used to write down the names of the 10
places they visit. The first person to finish and have
their list checked by the teacher wins. |

recognition. The kanji cards
for these places are provided below. Teachers may ask
students to locate the places written on these kanji
cards on the map. Students can
play match-up games, such as Snap and Concentration,
using these kanji cards and
picture cards. |

Students
form groups of 3 or 4 and spread out the famous
places picture cards. As the teacher reads out one
of the description cards, the students grab the matching
picture card. The teacher asks students どこですか,
and the students who grabbed the card say the name of
the place. |
