The Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre has produced Activity Resources Special Edition 5 - Japanese Skits 2 aimed at lower primary to upper primary/lower secondary students. This resource is available under the Centre's donation program and can be requested in the same way as our other donation items.

This skit collection is based on two well known Japanese children's stories and on original story. It is hoped that the skits can be used by students not only in the classroom but also as a presentation for a school event.

As well as the skits, each section includes a brief outline of the story, the language used, a list of the cast and cultural notes where needed. An explanation with diagrams of how to make the props needed for performing the skits is also included. The skits have been written in simple language to make them accessible to beginner learners. However students can add more words and create their own version of the script according to their language level.

The Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre hopes that regular issues of these resources will give teachers a greater choice of activities for their students and thereby help to make their classes more interesting.
